The 3pm slump in energy usually befalling BSC Accounting, Central Betoota, was partially cast aside today as team manager Andrew Winton (40) quickly checked over his shoulder before telling a joke to three white male team members.

“Yeah he normally jokes around but usually he’s pretty clean.” said accountant and joke witness Trevor Lander. “Wasn’t sure if he was checking if there were any sheilas listening, or maybe he was making sure Choi wasn’t nearby.”

After the initial excitement from the three disenfranchised and ultra-privileged team members, it was immediately clear who Winton was looking out for; account exec and New Zealander Mark Giles.

“Haha” he said.

“Yeah, Mark wouldn’t have liked that one.” Lander told us reassuringly.

“I’m sure he’s heard his share of sheep shagging jokes before but this was particularly filthy. Actually it’s not the type of joke I tell at work”

In a Betoota Advocate exclusive, we spoke to Andrew Winton about the potentially divisive afternoon joke.

“I’m not trying to exclude him or anything. Just having a laugh with the guys. Plus that joke is a bit homophobic and we’ve never heard him talk about any chicks so, it’s just better this way. Everyone wins.”

More to come.
