IN SHOCKING NEWS: Australian football coach, Ange Postecoglou has been potentially banned from tonight’s Asian Cup Final after launching a stunning verbal assault on a well-known sports Journalist.
It is believed that governing bodies have banished Postecoglou along with Assistant coach Aurelio Vidmar from the sideline of tonight’s Final in Sydney after this morning’s final press conference.
The former Brisbane Roar coach took exception to a question asked in relation to two of the lesser known South Korean players that are shock selections in tonight’s blockbuster.
The question was put forward by Betoota’s own Sport’s Journalist, Imran Gashkori, when he asked “What do you make of the big news this morning, (the selections of South Korean players) Yu Pak Shi and Fuk Yu Too?”
In an unprovoked attack, the usually calm Postecoglou stood up from his chair angrily exclaiming “What did you say about me? You’ll be the one in deep shit in a moment!”
A confused room of Journalists in the press room had to hold back Postecoglou as well as Vidmar who were aggressively trying to attack our Pakistani-born Sports Journalist.
“I was pretty stunned to see big Ange flying at me,” says a shaken Gashkori.
“I was simply asking about the bold move by South Korea’s German born Manager Uli Stielike, to select Shi and Ange lost it!”
“I’m just worried for the Aussie boys tonight who are going to be without guidance from their top two mentors”
FIFA were quick to act on the “zero tolerance” to violence policy banning both Postecoglou and Vidmar for tonight’s final and a subsequent two matches.
The ban seems unusually light after recent bans from FIFA include Uruguay’s Luis Suarez international ban for nine matches for biting and Barcelona coping a year long transfer ban in 2014 for signing to many youth players.
Former Australian player and current Australian assistant coach, Ante Milicic, will take the reins and tried to explain what happen to his fellow coaching staff.
“Ange and Aurelio are under a lot of pressure and I think it was just a bit of a misunderstanding.” said a nervous Milicic.
“I think young (Yu Pak) Shi was a eye opener to us and well, Fuk (Yu Too), that took us all by surprise”
The Aussies will go into the match as slight favourites with the bookies despite the big blow up this morning.
Stadium Australia in Sydney will play host to the final with kickoff scheduled for 8.00pm AEST. It will be broadcast live on Foxtel and the ABC from 7pm.
