The Canberra Police have been publicly humiliated today, as their officers stand accused of falsifying their statements to get a conviction against two high-profile Indigenous men.
The Chief Executive of the Canberra Raiders has today torn strips off the ACT cops who have perservered with charging NRL star Jack Wighton and Latrell Mitchell with fabricated evidence.
Don Furner said yesterday’s hearing confirmed what he and the NRL already knew, and accused the ACT police officers of “lying, en masse”.
Mr Wighton had been celebrating his 30th birthday in February this year when police removed him from Fiction nightclub, for no good reason, it has been confirmed.
His mate and cousin Latrell Mitchell appears to have also been thrown in a paddy wagon as a result of this heavy-handed policing tactics.
Yesterday, after giving evidence on the stand, Sergeant David Power apologised to Mr Wighton after footage was produced showing no incident had taken place and no lawful basis for the exclusion order issued against the former Raider.
While it’s not often that two young Indigenous men have the good fortune of being able to fight trumped up criminal charges with the backing of both the Canberra Raiders and The South Sydney Rabbitohs, the fact that both Wighton and Mitchell had access to elite legal representation might be the only reason this case was dropped.
The ACT cops now face the wrath of not only their own community, but the NRL fanbase at large, as well as every single Indigenous person who has been begging Australia to realise that this happens every single day to unlucky young men and women who don’t have fancy NRL lawyers to set the record straight.
However there will be few as furious as embattled NRL coach and diehard Canberra Raider icon, Ricky Stuart, who was spotted loitering outside the ACT law courts today.
“WHERE THE FUCK IS HE?!” shouts Sticky Ricky.
“HE FUCKED OUR SEASON THIS LYING GRUB!!”
The security, initially hired to keep the media under control, are forced to begin hosing down Ricky.
“Ricky, calm down” said one of the seccies.
“We’re all Raiders fans here Ricky. Nobody knows why he did this Ricky. Nobody”
Ricky refuses to calm down, as he death stares the lying senior cop who presented fabricated evidence against his star player.
“THEY SAID WE’D NEVER MAKE THE FINAL EIGHT BECAUSE OF YOU YA LOWLIFE!!” he roars.
“AND NOW JACK’S LEAVING CANBERRA BECAUSE OF ALL THIS”
“LET ME NEAR EM. BRING EM HERE!!!”
“YOU WEAK GUTTED DOG!!”
