Formula 1 starlet Oscar Piastri has done it again, it can be confirmed.
The young hotshot from Melbourne has extended his lead at the top of the drivers standing with a huge win at the Spanish Gran Prix.
Heading into the big Sunday on pole, Piastri drove a ‘flawless race’ to take home another victory, and edge closer to the coveted title of F1 World Driver’s Champion.
Zipping around the Catalonian city of Barcelona, Piastri finished ahead of Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc.
The race was marred by Max Verstappen being a brat again, with the abrasive Dutchman appearing to drive deliberately in George Russel.
He ended up finishing 10 spots below Australia’s up and comer.
He’d be the first Aussie to do it since Alan Jones (the good one) in the 1980s.
The historic achievement comes off the back of Piastri driving really really fast in Spain last night.
“Yeah he was so fast he made the other fast people look not fast to the tune of a couple of seconds,” said local F1 fan.
While he only holds a slender lead of 10 points, the multiple season wins have many believing that the 22-year-old could really do it.
“God I hope he keeps this up,” said the fan.
More to come.
