After a humorous fortnight of intense muckraking from the biased bird-brains in the NRL media, the Queensland Maroons have once again proven that you can’t count us out.
After a fortnight of ridicule and personal attacks from the Sydney media, the boys from the North did exactly what every Queenslander predicted they would do.
It was a glorious win from the perspective of Queensland fans, because not only did the Maroons play top shelf football, but it appears that the New South Wales Blues also proved that once again, they will buckle under the slightest pressure.
The Queenslanders had a 20-point lead at the end of the first, before the Blues did their best to claw comeback in the second, which they ultimately couldn’t pull off.
Unfortunately for the Blues players, they are now at the mercy of their own fans – who have a habit of blaming individual players for losses despite the fact that it clearly requires the hard work of an entire team to bottle a match that badly.
By the time the full-time whistle sounded, the Queenslanders had held on by two points with a 22-24 lead – bringing the series to 1-1 before the gamer three decider next month.
It is not yet certain when these morons from down south will realise that the Queensland side only performs better when they are under siege from the arrogant media pundits in Sydney – who once again have prematurely declared a new era of dominance for the NSW Blues.
Both coach Billy Slater and captain Cameron Munster made a point of thanking the Sydney media for their hard work in the lead up to last night’s match.
“Couldn’t have done it without you lot” said Slater.
“You never convinced us we could lose, but the fact that you’d convinced yourselves… That was the motivation we needed to humiliate the opponents – who you have lording as a much better team for well over a month now”
Munster echoed his coach’s sentiment.
“Yeah… What do you guys make of me being selected as captain now?”
“Thanks anyway”
