“I never meant to change the rules. Miles wasn’t looking so I hit him. It’s as simple as that”
Origin football died on the the 39th minute of game one, 2013.
The gritty, aggressive and physical rivalry disappeared forever. Lost over nothing more than a devastatingly cheap one-two combination from NSW captain, Paul Gallen.
“I just done what I thought he deserved” said an unashamed Paul Gallen following the incident.
He knew it was comin’
Nate Myles, in response to a swinging arm from Paul Gallen, pushed the NSW captain. Gallen whacked him with a left and a right and with that showed the world that Generation Y do not know how to respond to physical confrontation with class.
Gallen’s dogshot sealed the fate of our now boring game.
Fighting or striking another player with your fist has been outlawed. The penalties are much harsher, even in Origin, which had always been a special case, players must refrain from pulling the trigger.
But now, the man responsible for it all has come out and said that Queensland struggles to follow the rules that were implemented as a result of his “coward-punching”
“It’s seriously f**ked up ay” said a stirred up Paul Gallen in an interview with MMM Brisbane.
“You lot are f**kin’ grubs. Follow the rules, times have changed ay”
