Nearly month after the 2025 Federal Election, and the far-right commentators at Sky News have not responded well to Australia’s overwhelming rejection of their delusional ideologies.

This comes as every single one of the network’s extremely well-paid on-screen presenters cheered Peter Dutton’s Federal Opposition throughout the entire election campaign – only to be met with the worst result in the Liberal Party’s history.

Not one prediction made by any of the multimillionaire shiraz-toothed conservative pundits appeared to come true, as the Albanese government was re-elected with 94 seats, and 12 going to the Teals and Greens.

In the weeks since this generational shift in Australian politics, Sky News has made a number of schizophrenic claims as to why 18 million citizens voted the way they did.

From claims of AEC interference to the accusations of ‘left-wing state media scare campaigns’ – the engine room of Australia’s conservative political class have now decided that Peter Dutton only lost because he was being ‘too moderate’.

As the Liberal Party now scrambles to disassociate themselves with this echo chamber of populist media toffs, and untangle the stranglehold they have over the party’s shrinking branch members, it seems that Sky News is refusing to join them on this journey of self-analysis.

While succeeding in poisoning the minds of a small cohort of well-heeled retirees, it has become clear that Sky News wields nowhere near as much power over voters as they do with Liberal MPs.

While Peter Dutton and Scott Morrison were more than willing to follower the orders of Sky News by derailing the leadership of Malcolm Turnbull and destroying any action being taken towards solving the housing and climate crises, it appears the voters aren’t really as interested in helping billionaires get richer at the expense of both working people and the planet.

In response to this solid rejection of their delusional vision for Australia, Sky News has instead attempted to grow their audience of free-to-air seniors and foreign YouTube viewers by descended into conspiracy theories that borderline on the supernatural.
