As both leaders bounce around the marginal electorates of Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane – the final days of the 2025 Federal Election is an opportunity to make last minute pitches to undecided Australian voters.

However, Prime Minister Albanese has today taken a short break and made a quick visit to his own electorate of Grayndler.

After making his National Press Club address in Canberra earlier today, the PM pulled into his hometown for one single afternoon, and decided to take part in some very inner-west activities while there.

This was visit was not necessary for Albanese, as his hometown is one of the few safe seats in the country.

There’s been a number of surprising electorates emerge as potential losses for Peter Dutton’s Coalition, namely Brisbane’s McMansion belt of ‘Bonner’ that has been held by a nameless Liberal backbencher for 20 years, and is now being contested by high-profile former local councillor Kara Cook.

But it’s not just the Westfield suburbs of Carindale and Mount Gravatt that are risk, betting markets are rapidly shortening for the Labor candidate in Peter Dutton’s North Brisbane electorate of Dickson. With a popular female Independent, and the relentless Labor opponent Ali France making her third crack at unseating the Federal Opposition leader.

Elsewhere in Melbourne, the Coalition are trying to snatch back several suburban electorates that swung to Labor in the 2022 post-pandemic malaise.

The same is happening in Sydney’s Western and Northern suburbs, with the Labor-held harbourside seat of Bennelong now up for grabs after changes to the electorate boundaries pushed the seat further into the traditionally blue lower North Shore.

But in Sydney’s alternative inner west, the imminent Federal Election appeared to be the last thing on Albanese’s mind – as he visited the new cannabis dispensary outlet on Enmore Road.

“Gotta support small business” said the PM, as he emerged from the High St dispensary with bloodshot eyes.

“Things are a bit different nowadays. Once upon a time I’d have to visit Newtown train station to get my hands on these kinds of goodies”

The Prime Minister then coughed, before asking his staffers to direct him to the nearest Turkish ice cream shop.
