The ‘staff writers’ who don’t like putting their names on the clickbait articles they write for Fox Sports are today salivating at the opportunity to combine two of their biggest non-stories of the year.
The unconfirmed news that Mike Tyson is coming out of retirement has today merged with the pointless speculation surrounding NRL star Latrell Mitchell’s match fitness.
Mike Tyson has the world of boxing paying attention again, after the 53-year-old apparently announced his plan to return to the ring, by posting a video of himself exercising on Instagram.
This made-up news story has also immediately triggered Fox Sport staff writers to begin speculating which Australian ex-footballer Mike Tyson might want to fight, because it has apparently been his dream to fight that bald bloke who played AFL for the Sydney Swans 11 years ago.
Despite his last fight coming in 2005, the Fox Sports reports that Tyson has a host of options to choose from for a return bout including All Blacks legend Sonny Bill Williams, NRL great Paul Gallen and AFL great Barry Hall.
However, one name that has also been thrown into the mix is that of South Sydney Rabbitohs star Latrell Mitchell, who Fox Sports cannot go two hours without hassling with fake stories about his personal life and fitness.
The staff writers have today revealed that unknown sources close to both Tyson and Mitchell have confirmed that there has been a $200m purse put forward for the two men to fight in a 60 round bare knuckle heavyweight match in the Sydney Opera House steps on Christmas Eve.
That is, providing that Latrell Mitchell can get fit in time for the match, because apparently he isn’t looking that fit, according to a 19-year-old paparazzi photographer peaking over the fence at Redfern Oval on Tuesday.
