The Australian Prime Minister has finally silenced his political opponents who have been making fun of his inability to lock in a meeting with the US President since the two were re-elected this year.

But as Donald Trump begins a world tour of famous golf courses, it seems that the Australian government have managed to get one of our nation’s most esteemed goat tracks on the list.

The Marrickville Golf Club, colloquially known as ‘The Royal Marrickville’ – is a public golf course within working distance to the Prime Minister’s home in the Grayndler electorate.

It is know for cheap schooners and lots of hard surfaces for the ball to ricochet off. According to the PM, it’s the type of exciting suburban golf course that makes you wonder why anyone would spend ten years and thousands of dollars on a waiting to join an exclusive club.

Albanese is yet to meet face-to-face with Trump, eight months since the President was returned to power at the 2024 US election.

The PM has faced criticism from the Coalition and Murdoch media for not pushing harder to meet with him earlier to discuss the US government’s volatile trade tariffs.

The pair were due to meet in Canada earlier in the year at the G7 summit, but Mr Trump left abruptly amid the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran. Following this flakiness, Albanese caused shockwaves by choosing to meet with the Chinese president first.

With nothing else to work with following Labor’s landslide May 3 election victory, the media and Federal Opposition are now starting to fixate on the fact that our two leaders have not sat down to discuss a trade deal that could be torn up at any given moment depending on what mood the US President is in.

But with Trump now fuelling up his presidential jet to take part in a ‘working trip’ to play golf in different places the world, Albanese has revealed that the Royal Marrickville will be one of the many courses on the President’s itinerary.

“It’s 18 holes. So that’ll give us more than enough time to discuss the beef and steel deals” said the PM.

“Plus if we do it next week, we might be able to play pub trivia afterwards. It’s the first monday of every month. They do an incredible Shnitty and Barra down the Ville”
