Interesting images have emerged out of NSW Origin Camp today, with coach Brad Fittler revealing a shock change ahead of Wednesday night’s series opener.
With much made of NSW’s team selection and whether the starting 13 would remain the same come kick-off, it’s Fittler’s wardrobe choices that have today set tongues wagging.
Known previously for his Sydney Roosters-inspired black skivvy and coat, the coach known as ‘Freddy’ was seen sporting some clothing more associated with his Western Sydney roots.
Born and raised in Western Sydney, the former Panthers’ player has leaned into his heritage by sporting some Nike TNs, a Gant jumper, a bum bag, and some Nautica shorts with his NSW Blues cap.
It’s believed that 7 days into another set of Origin camps dominated by Penrith Panthers players, Fittler has finally caved and jumped on the cultural bandwagon.
With Bizza, Romey, Critta, and Cleary in tow, Freddy got the mood for training going by cranking some Aussie drill during warm-up.
Reciting the words from one of the latest OneFour songs, Fittler did a little mounty bop while walking into the middle of the group of stretching players.
“That’s why I put that shit in cruise control,” sang Fittler.
“Clock that back and watch Queensland lose their soul,” he continued with the hype train that is To’o, Luai and Crichton getting behind him.
Training then kicked off, with Fittler seen shouting ‘eshaysss’ every time a player did something impressive or performed their required task.
More to come.
