The propagandists at the Herald Sun and Sky News are in panic mode this week, after a new poll in the once-safe Victorian seat of Goldstein points to a tie on the primary vote between the current Liberal MP Tim Wilson MP and his independent challenger Zoe Daniel.
If the vote remains at 33% each on election day, the teal independent will easily take the seat on two-party preferences.
As the media do their very best to avoid even mentioning Zoe Daniel’s name – opting to refer to her as ‘anti-Liberal challenger’ – the Morrison Government is now at a point where they have to decide whether they sacrifice Wilson’s once blue ribbon electorate in south-east Melbourne – and focus of redirecting their resources to Josh Frydenberg’s campaign against a similarly progressive independent next door.
With the Herald Sun dedicating a Sunday front page, and a three page spread, to protecting the political ambitions of the far more important Treasurer – Tim Wilson MP looks like he might be left out in the dark by his beloved ‘broadchurch’.

During an exchange with an undecided voter outside his electorate office, Tim Wilson MP has taken great offense at being compared to one of the greatest villains in television history.
“Haha. You remind me of King Joffrey” said the voter, making reference to the infamous Game of Thrones character.
Wilson, who is known for his thin-skin, assumed that the voter was calling him an inbred little toff who would gladly crossbow a peasant if given the chance.
“HOW FUCKING DARE YOU!” said Wilson, to the elderly pensioner.
“WHO IS FUNDING YOU. IS IT CANNON-BROOKES???”
“MAGDA SZUBANSKI?”
The voter, who was simply attempting to compliment Wilson on his impressive skincare routine and bleached teeth, appeared confused.
“What?” they asked.
Wilson, on the verge of tears, continued his tantrum.
“I’M CALLING THE POLICE. THIS IS DISGRACEFUL, DIRTY POLITICS”
“GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY FACE YOU ANTI-LIBERAL NAZI!!”
