A Sydney man has this week had a huge weight lifted off his shoulders.
The Paddington local explained that with the Roosters now out of the NRL finals, he can quietly go back to enjoying his beloved Wallabies.
This comes after the Roosters lost convincingly to the Manly Sea-Eagles on Friday night, before the Wallabies pulled off a huge win against the World Champion Springboks.
“It’s such a relief to no longer have to pretend I hate the game I grew up with,” said the private schoolboy who quietly watches every Wallabies game.
“To be able to speak about the boys in Green and Gold in the open is just so refreshing.”
The rapidly ageing lawyer from the city’s Eastern Suburbs explained that while he did take the Chooks Friday night thumping poorly, it’s been a blessing in disguise.
“Look, obviously I pretend to get around the Roosters and turn up my love for the working-class game, but deep down I’m like our Prime Minister.”
“I’m a die-hard fan of the game they play in heaven,” he said.
“And now they’ve got a couple of wins under their belt, I can proudly talk about them and watch them as well.”
“It’s going to be a good few weeks ahead,” he explained.
