As the end of 2020 draws near it brings with it Spotify’s yearly wrap up of what its listeners have been streaming.
Like everyone who listens to music, local woman Jessie Griffiths likes to think she’s a bit of an expert and that her music taste is better than everyone else’s.
But as her most played songs screenshot reveals, Jessie may or may not know there are other artists out there apart from Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.
The Advocate sat down with Jessie to briefly discuss her year in review and to see whether in 2021 she would consider expanding her musical horizons.
“Why would I do that?”
“Macaroni in a potttt!!!” she shouts.
“Also, I do listen to other artists; Bey, Drake, Taylor”
“I just think ‘that song’ is iconic. And sure, it’s accounted for 2345 minutes of my streaming time since it dropped in July or whatever”
Spotify says that women tend to take particular pride in the fact that they listen to trap, rap and R&B music, saying that it makes them feel there is more depth to their character.
However, Jessie says she isn’t one of those girls, insisting that she has broad range and always has.
“I was listening to Fleetwood Mac before the Cranberry Juice guy”
