Former Senator Mathias Cormann brought the house down in Perth earlier this week by sharing an iconic Arnold Schwarzenegger quote before boarding his private jet.
“I’ll be back,” said Cormann in his native Belgian accent.
“To invoice the lot of you!”
As he said that, the Air Force crew and Cormann’s own staff burst into laughter at the thought of the Big Mat coming back from his overseas quest to be captain of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
News of the joke leaked as Scott Morrison defended the use of the taxpayer’s privat jet, which costs upwards of $4000 an hour.
“Mathias Cormann would’ve probably caught the coronavirus and he probably would’ve fucking died, considering he’s spent the past twenty years in the Senate,” said Morrison.
“Then his blood would be on the taxpayer’s hands and I don’t think they would’ve been able to live with that,”
“And anyway, what are you going to do if the use wasn’t lawful? Ring the police? I am the police.”
More to come.
