Shelly Hendry (29) hasn’t found social distancing and the general lockdown as hard as a lot of other Australians, in fact, she says she’s happy to stay in lockdown until early June – or until Thredbo gets it’s first decent dump of snow.
Shelly’s in such high spirits because unlike other Australians who are cooped up in their homes, Shelly has set up residency in her family’s second beach house.
“Of course I find some bits hard, like I’m getting married in November and I can’t even go dress shopping – that’s really stressful!”
“But, I mean, getting an uninterrupted view of this every evening makes it all ok”
Shelly is referring to the sunset, the same sunset she’s been uploading to her Instagram for the past 7 weeks.
When asked whether she thought it might be a little insensitive to those who are doing it tough during the lockdown, Shelly didn’t see the problem at all.
“What? If anything I am doing them a favour, this could be the only sunset they see”
“Could you imagine a life without sunsets?” Shelly shivered.
“If I see another sunset pic with #stayhome I’ll lose it” said an anonymous follower who echoed the thoughts of hundreds of others.
There’s no way you can make everyone happy, so perhaps for the remainder of the lockdown, the land-dwelling peasants will just have to put up with Shelly’s beach sunset uploads.
