Gwen Harmison has never been one to shy away from her achievements.
Whether they be academic, career or extra-curricular, Harmison has always been proud of her accolades.
So that’s why the solicitor from Betoota’s French Quarter, although she may not openly admit it still rolls out her ‘Tough Mudder 2019’ competitors t shirt whenever she can.
Speaking to The Advocate down at a local high intensity gym, Harmison explained why she was donning the endurance event shirt for the umptieth time.
“Oh this,” she laughed looking down at the incredibly worn piece of clothing.
“Haha it was just the first thing I saw in my cupboard,” she lied.
“But yeah, it’s a good tee just to wear to the gym you know.”
“Just to let everyone know that I’m not just some pen pusher who gets down here for a spin class.”
Harmison told The Advocate that she plans to get a bit more mileage out of the tee yet.
“Like all those guys who played rep footy during their late teens, I’m going to brandish this item of clothing for years to come,” she said.
“It makes me look like a seasoned veteran. Unlike these basic athleisure wearing treadmill drones. You know I ran straight through those dangly electric wires?”
“But it also reminds me about the time, three years ago, when I was extremely fit”
We asked a few other gym goers about the shirt.
“Oh wow, she must be really fit and athletic! Good on her,” one said.
“Tough Mudder! Holy moses, she must be a beast,” another said.
“I actually played Under 14’s Regional Rugby League,” said the final person we asked.
