In an economy that hardly favours millennials, one local account manager from Betoota’s French Quarter appears to be doing just fine.
Despite blindly paying hyper-inflated rent each week in a generous two bedroom flat with an old school friend, as well as eating out for lunch every day, Lucy Kipson (23) also seems to be able to afford a two new items of clothing each day.
While her actual in-store shopping habits have not yet been witnessed, the amount of deliveries she receives from the ICONIC and ASOS has colleagues starting to think her parents might be loaded.
One older and jaded, colleague, Genevieve (55, sales manager) says that even on her much bigger salary, two new pairs of shoes a week would really test her budget.
“That’s not including the dresses and bangles” she says.
“Or the odd trinkets for her desk. Who the fuck needs three different keep-cups? Or a designer clock? She’s got an iPhone X setting in front of her charging off a portable battery”
With the silly season around the corner, the lack of online sales specials have not slowed down Lucy, who has also has tickets to just about every Summer music festival, with leave booked.
“Ahhh… I shouldn’t be going to Falls” says Lucy, as he drags a stanley knife through the tape seal on a recently delivered shoebox.
“I’m trying to save for Europe”
“Oh well, these will be good for travelling”
