The richest 1% Of Victoria finally have something to celebrate today, after their beloved Melbourne Football Club lives to see another match in this year’s AFL finals.

The Demons are into the make-or-break week of the AFL finals for the first time since 2000 after dismissing Hawthorn in the first semi-final at the MCG last night.

”I’m absolutely ecstatic about the news” says Angus Nielsen-Butterley (55), a prominent Demons supporter who was floating around the ski lift at Mount Buller this morning.

”It’s just a shame that finals footy always clashes with the ideal time for skiing. We only get one month a year”

”it’s all good though. Most of the members are up here with us, so the club has organised a pop-up corporate box with a big screen. It’s almost like being back in the members [haha]”

”You can really feel the atmosphere come to life up here. Mount Buller hasn’t been this excitable since the results of the 2013 election came through”

With Melbourne playing their best footy of the 2018 season at the right end of the season that it is hard to envisage a change in momentum for their next match in Perth.

Cheryl Mascot-Elderscotch (71), another holidayer at Mount Buller, says this looks like their year.

”Go Ds!!!” She shouted.

”I’ve gone and bought all of my grandchildren new scarves. It’s been great to take their mind off what happened to their deputy principal after the haircut incident”
