The makers of the iconic and ever-popular children’s television program Sesame Street have shocked parents and children today with a spooky new coastal Australian character called the ‘Grog Monster.’
Sesame Street is an American educational children’s television series that combines live action, sketch comedy, animation and puppetry and has influenced children for a few generations.
The new Grog Monster has been met with controversy today as the creators scramble to justify its educational value.
The grey puppet is set to appear only on Sunday mornings and educate and scare children with accounts of what he and his dumb arse mates got up to on the weekend.
The monster appeared in a sketch this morning telling children about what the surfer puppet did over the long weekend, which was mad.
“Argh ro, argh ro, [sic] this weekend mr Groggy went away on a boys trip with his friends, and after 13 beers and a few bumps he threw a kebab at a cop car” the monster said.
“Argh ro argh ro argh roooooo,” the monster finished his sketch with.
The tales the Grog Monster tells are very much grog horror stories and many have been asking whether they serve a legitimate purpose.
An online campaign to have the monster canned has received huge support in Mum’s facebook groups across the internet, with the Sesame Street production team reportedly being inundated with complaints.
More to come.
