The entire organisation of Formula 1 has been momentarily erased from the Australian psyche.
The two week long erasure of the popular motorsport that has captured so many hearts and minds over the last few years, comes after Australian man Oscar Piastri failed to win the Canadian Gran Prix.
Englishman George Russell delivered a faultless drive to win from pole position ahead of Red Bull rival Max Verstappen.
Oscar finished 4th, after not driving as fast as the winner George Russel, and getting driven into by his teammate Lando Norris.
Lando accepted full responsibility for the incident, which thankfully didn’t stop Piastri from finishing 4th and consolidating his lead at the top of the Driver’s championship.
However, the 4th place finish means F1 doesn’t exist in Australia for the next couple of weeks.
It’s believe the sport will re-emerge in 13 days time at the Austrian GP, if Oscar Piastri can get the job done in the land of no kangaroos.
Piastri has promised to drive a bit faster for that next race, which has come as welcome relief to his legion of fans.
More to ome.
