The Federal Coalition is no more.

After decades of working together, The Liberal Party and Nationals going their seperate ways, ending the right-wing partnership that has been crucial for conservatives to hold power at Federal level.

The Nationals leader, David Littleproud, informed the Liberal leader, Sussan Ley, mid-morning on Tuesday that his smaller, rural-centric, party wouldn’t sign a new coalition agreement.

Some say it was over Sussan Ley’s decision to move on from Gina Rhinehart’s terminal Nuclear power policy, some say it was because the Liberals refused to hear out the Nationals on their plan to belt Woolies and Coles into line.

Others say it was caused by the Liberal party troublemakers who convinced Jacinta Price to jump ship from the Nationals at the first sign of potential leadership opportunity.

Either way, it’s over.

The exact reasons for this separation are yet to come out in the wash, but it does leave a large number of MPs and Senators stranded.

Namely, Jacinta Price.

With the Liberals given full mandate to modernise without worrying about upsetting their climate-change-denying cousins in the bush, where does that leave Sky News’s favourite MAGA populist?

Furthermore, what the fuck is going to become of the Queensland-based LNP Parliamentarians?

For those who do not know what all these letters mean, The Liberal National Party (LNP) is a purely Queensland phenomena. It was formed in 2008 by a merger of the Queensland divisions of the Liberal Party and the National Party. It is not a Coalition, but it does help form the Federal Coalition by joining up with the Nationals and Liberals in Canberra.

Some would argue that the merger of 2008 was the start of the Coalition’s lurch to the right, as Nationals and Liberals became indecipherable in Queensland.

The Federal senators and MPs that represent this beastly merger are currently treading water. They are neither Liberal or National, but both.

While it is assumed most of the Federal LNP representatives will just jump into bed with the Nationals, there are still some proper Liberals in the ranks.

These men (yes, all men) have been severed in half, including Senator James McGrath, who just last night appeared on ABC 730 urging the Coalition to modernise and make sure they are fit for purpose.
