Record-breaking early voter numbers have confirmed that Australians cannot wait to get the 2025 Federal Election over with.
Right around the nation, fed up tax-payers are lining up at their local town halls and letting not only the Australian Electoral Commission know how they feel, but also the volunteers who have been stationed out front in an effort to sway their vote.
The first week of pre-poll voting has seen a huge number of Australians navigating several public holidays to take part in the democratic process a full week before election day.
By Saturday the 26th of April, a total of 2,397,351 – this represents 13.2% of eligible voters.
It is not yet known which political party this unusual trend will benefit most, however, early exit poll data has shown a 4.6 per cent swing towards Labor compared to the 2022 election.
Traditionally, early voters are mostly made up of older Australians who have the time to get out and about on weekdays.
Unfortunately for Dutton, older Australians are also considered his most reliable voters – and If 4.6% of them have jumped the fence, then this election might be over well before the less engaged younger Australians line up on May 3.
One older Australian that will not be giving his vote to Peter Dutton is retired freight pilot, Huan Fraser (67).
Speaking to The Betoota Advocate today, Huan says he’s pretty certain the Liberal volunteers knew that before he even got close enough to give them an earful.
“I wouldn’t trust the spud as far as I could throw him” says Huan.
“And these peculiar young men and women wearing blue shirts could tell I wasn’t one of those braindead Sky News fans just by looking at me”
Huan says he doesn’t know why the Liberal volunteers gave him a wide berth, but it didn’t stop him from tearing strips off them about the Coalition’s disgraceful conduct throughout the duration of the last Parliamentary term, something that he says is directly responsible for the fact that we now have a growing population of Neo-Nazis who feel emboldened to boo Aboriginal servicemen at ANZAC Day dawn services.
“I let em have it all. In the booth and on the streets” says Huan.
Local Liberal volunteer, Timothy Insell (22) said they didn’t even bother with Huan when they saw the shirt he was wearing.
“We’ve been told to avoid anyone wearing a shirt that has the glass pyramid with the rainbow shining through it” says Mr Insell.
“They are all leftists who watch too much hate media like the ABC”
“The Liberal Party doesn’t negotiate with traitors”
