The British sporting press are licking their lips again this week, as one of their favourite subjects continues to provide the goods.
Tottenham Hotspur has lost another match in the Premier League, managing to slip even further away from the Premier League title.
The slide comes despite the fact the North London club and their fans were were already celebrating in October.
Just a month ago, with 10 matches played, the Spurs, or Spuds as they are known to many, were sitting pretty on top of the table.
However, after a tough run of scheduling and few raindrops landing on their paper thin squad, the Spudlians are now sliding drastically after losing 4 of their last 5 league matches, despite leading at some point during the 90.
On top of the delicious and thoroughly savoured slide, the press have been enjoying watching the dinky di convict manager in charge grow less and less matey.
Making waves for being a straight shooting character who just wanted to give the club and fans something to cheer about, Australian Ange Postecolgou is now facing more and more questions about his tactics, strategy and managerial capabilities.
Known for his frosty responses to questions he doesn’t like, Ange has now had to face barbs related to his ability to handle losses, as if the great man never coached the Australian Men’s Football team.
“Geez mate, you blokes never heard of the Socceroos,” said a prickly Ange this morning after being asked whether the latest loss to West Ham this morning was cause for serious concern.
“I know I’ve just come from the bully boys of Scottish Football, but geez, let’s not forget I had to put up with some tough times down South.”
“I think I’ll be right,” he then said, finishing the press conference before it descended into a scene reminisce of his famous showdown with Craig Foster on SBS.
Tottenham and Ange now face Newcastle in a couple of days, with no reprieve from their tough schedule.
More to come.
