Trump and Zelensky have decided to put aside their differences and hinge the future of Ukraine on a game of slaps in the Vatican.

The encounter occurred last week when leaders of the world descended on the Vatican to attend the funeral of the late pope Francis.

The two were off to an awkward start during their meeting, only a couple months after a fiery exchange at the white house.

Despite Trump’s hostile tone during the last meeting, he has found that dealing with Putin might not be the cakewalk he assumed it would be.

“Yeah it’s actually not as easy as I thought it would be back when I said I would end the war on my first day” Trump explained.

The US president’s realisation has given Zelensky the opportunity to rekindle the damaged relationship between the two countries.

After a few moments of awkward small talk, Zelensky invited Trump to take a seat in St. Peter’s Basilica.

Journalists were stunned to see what happened.

“I thought I would speak the language a man like Trump knows best, a classic game of slaps” explained the Ukrainian president.

Witnesses report seeing Zelensky slowly lowering his clasped hands as an offer for battle.

Trump, almost instinctively lowered his hands without being told what was going on, ready for battle.

“I knew that if Zelensky beat me in this game of slaps then I would have no other choice but to give my full support to Ukraine during these negotiations” Trump admitted.

The fiery game, which had become somewhat of a spectacle, came right down to the wire.

Ultimately, the game ended in a confusing draw after Trump accused the Ukrainian leader of flinching too early on multiple occasions, causing Trump to claim a draw.
