Protests have turned into riots throughout middle America overnight, as the citizen response to the Minnesota police murder of George Floyd descends into fires and looting.
The pressure cooker of racially-charged police brutality in America appears to have finally boiled over, with thousands of protestors taking to the streets in both Minneapolis and other cities overnight.
President Donald Trump has been censored by Twitter after he urged the shooting of looters in Minnesota, fuelling the national unrest sparked by the death of the unarmed black man in police custody, with a call for military violence against U.S. citizens.
In what can only be viewed as a call to arms for his gun-loving supporters, Trump has suggested that ‘when the looting starts, the shooting starts’ – in the third time he has been reprimanded by the Twitter in one week.
Ironically, the frontline of Trump’s domestic paramilitaries are the same people who the president had encouraged to protest against the COVID-19 social distancing measures implemented by medical experts across America over the last few months.
The Betoota Advocate spoke to some of these morbidly obese red-cap patriots earlier today in the streets of the whiter suburbs of Minneapolis.
“These riots don’t achieve anything” puffs Devin Hermann, a local Trump die-hard, who just last month took a loaded AR15 to the steps of his Town Hall to protest how annoying COVID-19 restrictions are because he was unable to get a haircut when he wanted one.
“It’s way over the top” says his equally husky, soft-drink-wielding wife, Karen.
“I believe in freedom, but this is too much. They should all be arrested like those CNN liars”
“There is a peaceful way to protest and then there’s just looting”
When asked if they thought kneeling during the national anthem was an peaceful way to protest the 800 unarmed people killed by police officers each year in America, Devin and Karen told us to stop being so disrespectful and get our asses back to Australia.
