Multiple women have come forward on social media alleging that singer-songwriter-actor Justin Timberlake engaged in historical crimes against denim.
The allegations suggest that the former lead singer of NSYNC completely overdid it with the sturdy cotton warp-faced textile, starting in late 2001, just prior to his break-up with Britney.
While Timberlake has in the past apologised for the now famous photograph of both him and Spears in hideously matching indigo outfits, the triple denim and denim cowboy hat combo was at the time written off as a ‘fancy dress costume’ for a friend’s birthday party.
However, new revelations suggest that Timberlake rocked both the double and triple denim on multiple occasions throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, un-ironically.
The alleged assaults on the iconic working class fabric are believed to have happened at different nightclubs and events in both Los Angeles and Las Vegas over the space of a decade, according to the accusations.
Accusers say this behaviour and horrible fashion was covered up and buried underneath the success of Timberlake’s debut 2002 album ‘Justified’ – which was a triple platinum record jam-packed with absolute bangers.
However, legal representatives for the pop star vehemently deny the claims made on social media by the alleged victims who claimed to have witnessed these historical crimes against denim.
Timberlake on Thursday filed a $20 million defamation lawsuit over the anonymous tweets. According to the Hollywood Reporter: “He argues the stories are fabricated attention grabs and he has proof the claims are impossible.”
“The malicious statements made by ‘Wendy from Carindale’ and ‘Katie from Bankstown’ (who may be the same person under two accounts) are absolutely false, and their respective heinous accusations that Timberlake engaged in the alleged killing of the late-90s denim renaissance are outrageous, fabricated lies,” wrote Timberlake’s attorney in the complaint.
