Beyoncé Knowles and Shawn Carter (Jay Z) have this week released a joint album titled ‘The Carters’, and while such a monumental feat of music and artistry should push the album to number one on any chart, some questionable marketing decisions by the couple could be their undoing.

The pair decided to release their album only on their music streaming project, Tidal, a music streaming service that has a mere 3 million subscribers – opposed to Apple Music with 11 million and Spotify with 30 million.

It’s a move that has annoyed consumers all over to globe, in particular here in Betoota. Not only is it a terrible strategy, but it’s just outright annoying.

“I don’t care who uploads what to it, I will never subscribe to Tidal” added Shayda, the Diamantina’s second biggest Instagram influencer.

It appears not even Bey’s diehard fans will download the streaming service, with the head of Betoota’s BeyHive catching up with our reporter earlier.

“Is it annoying that I can’t listen to her new album? Absolutely. But I’ve already got a Spotify and Apple Music account – why would I subscribe to another one that’s more expensive and has less music?”

“Literally nothing she could do will make me switch.”

Unfortunately for the power couple this is a common song sung throughout the world, yet it appears Jay and Bey don’t want to hear any of it. We can only hope someone, one day soon, has the balls to let Jay and Bey know – if not for their wallets, for the fans.

More to come.
