After months of intense speculation, the owner of a gold-wrapped Ford Mustang has been revealed to a group of Betoota Heights businessmen who frequently spot it in the area.

The vehicle belongs to Karthik Ramesh, a successful Indian-Australian businessman, who has wide and varied interests in a number of industries and areas across our cosmopolitan inland port city.

Ramesh, the director of a IT network engineering consultancy and successful property speculator, confirmed ownership of the late-model muscle car and expressed genuine amusement at the interest it’s been generating in the area.

“Seriously, bro,” he said.

“I had no idea. Yah, it’s my car. And yes, I know what the next question is, bro. It’s the EcoBoost. You can actually tune it so it’s faster and better than the V8. Yes, it’s an automatic. Bro, I drive in traffic all day. Why bother pretending I don’t?”

Seeing the car in the Green Road Shopping Village carpark each day, patrons sitting in the Betoota Heights RSL smoking area would often discuss who the hell would drive a car like that. One of those gentlemen who enjoy tarring the only road to their lungs spoke briefly to The Advocate upon learning the owner’s identity.

“Ah, true,” said convicted asbestos dumper Roden Overell, who is the no good nephew of this masthead’s editor, Clancy.

“Makes sense. Indian blokes love the Mustang. I mean, who doesn’t? I enjoy the fact that your average successful Indian businessman has enough moral panache to walk past the well-trodden road from mild success to a BMW dealership. A BMW isn’t cool and you have to be a proper dipstick to drive one. A Mustang, on the other hand, is for a man who doesn’t give a fuck. It’s probably financed. Who cares? Me want Mustang, me want it now! Fuck yeah,”

“These blokes would’ve loved the XA, XB and XC hardtops. They would’ve bought them buy the dozen. Fuck yeah.”

More to come.
