A local woman reveals she was left regretting her life choices this morning, after a quick call with her sister resulted in her being palmed off to her nephew, and held hostage on the phone as he babbled about kindy.
Kaia Edmondson, 34, tells The Advocate that she’d done the call mostly out of guilt, and says she figured a ten minute walk to work would give her more than enough time to have a quick catchup with her sister Zara.
However it appeared that Zara wasn’t too keen on having a chat, and instead took the opportunity to relieve herself of a rambunctious toddler for twenty minutes – insisting that Jacob really wanted to talk to auntie Kaia!
Though she wanted to be nice, Kaia admits that it became quite a struggle after the it ticked past the five minute mark.
“Fuck me, it’s a struggle talking to a toddler on a phone”, says Kaia, who reveals this isn’t the first time her sister has pulled this trick.
“I don’t understand anything he’s saying, and I can’t wrap things up because he’s three and he doesn’t understand social nuances.”
“Like he’s very cute and sweet but Jesus Christ, it’s a slog.”
