In some more confusing news to come out of Betoota this morning a local woman was snubbed in real life earlier today by an Instagram follower who watches every single one of her stories without fail.
Isabella Brighton (25) says she was walking along Elm Street in the French Quarter when she locked eyes with follower Stuart Carrol (Stu_Man_89), and he proceeded to pretend like she was a complete stranger.
“I don’t understand why people do that?”
“If you’re so interested in my life, be my friend? Don’t watch all my stories and find out everything about me and then pretend you don’t know me in the street”
“It’s fucking creepy too”
“Stu was the year above me in primary school, we barely ever spoke…there are just too many weird things about his lurky behaviour on my insta”
According to Betoota’s top behavioural psychologist, Dianne Smythe, VoyeurGrammers are a new group that have emerged with social media.
“VouyeurGrammers is the public-facing label, here in the office we just refer to them as creeps”
“We’re still trying to figure out why these creeps’ interest with people on Instagram doesn’t translate to the real world”
“Top line we are thinking it’s insecurity, but there’s likely more to it”
With more people starting to venture out of their homes, Dianne suspects instances of VoyeurGrammers will skyrocket – the only advice she left us with is to not be a creep and say hello.
More to come.
