Donald Trump has bestowed his good wishes on Ghislaine Maxwell, who faces federal charges for allegedly enabling the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking of minor girls.
The president’s tone deaf comments have resulted in backlash from the US media, who magically forgot to report about this whole international celebrity pedophile ring for years, even after the man behind somehow managed to kill himself of 24 hour suicide watch.
However, now with the alleged co-conspirator in jail and probably just as at risk as Epstein was of being murdered by a faceless goon protecting the British Royal Family and high-profile American billionaires, it’s kind of hard to not report on this developing story.
At a press conference ostensibly to discuss the coronavirus crisis gripping the US on Tuesday, Trump took questions from reporters, one of whom asked him about Maxwell’s recent arrest and whether she might implicate some of the “powerful men” who formed part of Epstein’s jet set social circle.
“I don’t know – I haven’t really been following it too much. I just wish her well, frankly,” Trump responded.
“I have met her numerous times over the years, especially since I lived in Palm Beach, and I guess they lived in Palm Beach. But I wish her well, whatever it is”
When quizzed further about his thoughts on the whole international child trafficking syndicate that people keep getting murdered over, Trump stopped short at condemning the actions of Epstein and Maxwell.
“You also had some very fine people on both sides,” Trump said.
“You had people in that group that were there to just ride on a plane, a very, very cool private plane. You had people — and I’m not talking about the pedophiles and rapist; they should be condemned totally — you had many people in that group other than pedophiles and rapists.”
He then went to say there were also “troublemakers” among the victims.
MORE TO COME.
