A totally in-touch with the youth British PM is appalled by some of the actions at this years Glastonbury music festival, despite boasting about listening to anti-establishment music as a way to distinguish himself from the Tories.
“It’s just not appropriate for a music festival” explained Kier Starmer (62).
Starmer, a life long Smiths fan — and self described Indie Kid — thinks the controversies regarding Kneecap and Bob Vylan, point to a worrying trend.
“These kids are becoming far too radical these days” Starmer lamented as his quirky Smiths merch socks highlighted his light hearted image.
Kier Starmer insists this generation is different to his.
“When I was growing up bands like the Smiths were making songs like The Queen Is Dead and Margaret On The Guillotine!”
“Not highlighting war crimes!” the 62 year old said.
He isn’t alone either, many older Gen Xers in the establishment insist that further censorship of these acts is necessary to protect the precious minds of the younger generation.
“I’m happy BBC didn’t air that Kneecap group…. but the guy that replaced him should have been censored also…”
“The bands of my generation were edgy for sure — but they had a certain class about it” he added while sipping a coffee from his Sex Pistols themed mug.
Starmer insists he’s not against protest music, but prefers it when it’s “a bit more metaphorical, like when Morrissey fantasised about putting Thatcher on a guillotine”
