Knowing what to caption a social media post can make or break your holiday. After all, the memories you make and experiences you have in real life mean absolutely nothing if you botch the broadcasting of it to your followers.
The Advocate spoke to Helena Phipps, head of social at One Pump Media, to collate their top tips for crafting the perfect caption – one that they say communicates to your followers that you are really cool, funny and totally original!
“It’s really cool to refer to places as people” says Helena, “or if you write something really abstract that no one understands it can boost your enigma status.”
“Or, one of my favourite tricks is to just copy the caption of someone way cooler and more original than you are and claim it as your own.”
Helena has also thoughtfully compiled some ‘go to’ captions for our followers:

“[Insert city] you shouldn’t have ❤️”
“Life Lately”
“Eating our way through [insert city]”
“Out of office: On”
