The sun has finally emerged from the dark and angry storm clouds that have reigned hell upon Sydney this week.

Many pray that the nightmare is over. But given the scale and ferocity of this unprecedented weather pattern – nobody is willing to leave their homes just yet.

The destructive east coast low closed in earlier this week, causing heartbreak and horror for the most resilient city on earth.

But Sydney is built different. They stick together. They stay and fight.

Conditions are expected to ease in the NSW Capital today, but severe weather warnings are in place for parts of the Northern Tablelands, the Mid North Coast hinterland and about the Border Ranges.

These less important rural areas are set to face wind gusts of up to 100 km/h for the next 24 hours. However, they won’t have it nearly as bad as the poor people Sydney did this week – after surviving the most terrifying weather event in recorded history.

In fact, it might not even be over yet.

Australian media reports that it is impossible to know when it will be safe.

Sydney residents have been urged to stay on high alert as the “Once-In-A-Millennium Megadeath Cyclone Rain Bomb” continues to bring wild weather, with thousands of people in a city 6 million experiences the gruelling hardship of brief power blackouts.

NSW Premier and proud Sydneysider Chris Minns has today fronted a press conference, joined by Sydney Mayor Clover Moore and a representative for Prime Minister Albanese – who is still locked down in Kirribilli House out of precaution.

“My fellow Sydneysiders” began Minns.

“Tough times don’t last. Tough people do”

“Over the last 72 hours, each and every one of you have done your city proud. The Megadeath Cyclone Rain Bomb could have resulted in unspeakable tragedy and disaster – but you, my fellow residents, have risen to the occassion”

“The road to recovery will be long, and it will be disheartening, but I have no doubt that we will make it back. Together. As one”

“WE WILL REBUILD!”
