The Liberal Party of Australia have a new leader, after a tumultuous couple of weeks in Canberra and around the country.

Sussan Ley has been elected to lead the Liberal Party through the next few years of in-fighting, sabotage and public white-anting.

Ley beat Angus Taylor to the new role, becoming the first woman to go off the Glass Cliff for the party.

The deputy leadership is currently being contested now between Ted O’Brien on Sussan Ley’s ticket and Phil Thompson on Taylor’s ticket.

In the historic moment, Ley will lead the party into the future after its worst ever loss.

Ley is expected to be the scapegoat for 10 year of blokey incompetence fuelled by billionaire owned media companies telling them that all the voters were idiots.

Ley has yet to confirm whether she will reset the precedent and actually write more than a one page for policy, as has become the norm in the party.

However, given Angus Taylor has been shafted after a big 3 years of not writing any policy, it’s assumed she made need to look elsewhere for a treasurer.

More to come.
