The inevitable second wave of coronavirus is all that can salvage the St George (Illawarra) Dragons this season, according to NRL officials as the team completes another round without scoring a try.
Sydney’s Titans have suffered back to back floggings in the season reboot which has put pressure on just about everyone in the organisation, except for James Graham – who continues to carry the Saints on his shoulders through this river of shit they’re wading through.
A number of NRL officials have told The Advocate that the Dragons are counting on the competition to be shut down again, which will allow them more time to rebuild for next season.
“Things, believe it or not, are actually looking up for the Dragons,” said one official.
“They’ve got a few big names coming off contract this season and they’ll have a bit on money to spend. The St George Area in Sydney is pretty nice. Close to the beach, airport and national parks. It’s like Bondi without the Bondi people. It’s like the Sharks without the Shire people,”
“I think big things are coming their way soon,”
“Just not this season. This one’s pretty much a write-off. Honestly, this stretch makes Nathan Brown look like Wayne Bennett.”
More to come.
