SEE YOU IN A FEW HOURS: It has now been confirmed that the perfect recipe for peaceful living together is surprisingly simple: a reader wife and a gamer husband.
One such example is Betoota Heights couple Jess and Nick, who are happy to partake in their hobbies in silence in the lounge room. Well, save for the odd expletive coming from Nick when he again loses in Valorant.
Speaking to our reporter, the couple stress that they do, in fact, have things they do together, but indulging in their little nerd hobbies in the same space together, is what has truly kept the relationship alive.
“We’re both happy to do our own thing for hours, within a metre of each other, of course”, says Jess, who’s built up quite the extensive library already, “and sometimes we have a bit of crossover.”
“I love my fantasy smut, so it was very easy for Nick to get me into Baldur’s Gate 3. I had a poly relationship between a vampire and a druid, it was pretty sick.”
Jess and Nick, who also happen to be childfree, state that building up their little nerd cave has taken the pressure off coming up with activities all the time. And what’s more, is that because they both get hyper fixated for hours, there’s never any arguments.
“I’ll literally sit in my little nook and read for five hours straight, and he does the same thing for gaming, so we never get pissed off with each other.”
“I tell ya, it’s the secret to a happy marriage.”
