The New South Wales ICAC hearing is today continuing their investigation into whether former NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian breached public trust or deliberately ignored any alleged corruption by her ex boyfriend Daryl Maguire.
A series of text messages and emails sent from Maguire to Berejiklian were also read, related to the questionable funding allocated for the Australian Clay Target Association in Wagga Wagga.
Recordings have also been revealed just how eager Maguire was to funnel tax-payer dollars into local projects, while utilising his ‘closer personal relationship’ with Berejiklian to allegedly breach public trust to do.
“Wagga is going to be the best electorate in the world …” Maguire told the former Premier.
“Keep listening to me and it will be the blazing star of the southern universe.”
While clay target enthusiasts would argue that this is nothing but a local member getting carried away in his efforts to provide resources for people who enjoy firing rifles in the air, new photos that been circulated of the shooting club in question show the perhaps this community club received a bit more funding than it needed.
Investigators were speechless when presented with the photographs of the soon to be finished Wagga Wagga Clay Target Shooting club.
On completion the project will span 1.4 million square metres and feature a hotel that would be able to fit the population of a small town, shopping mall, convention centre, rooftop helipads, food court and bus station.
The building will be made up of twelve towers created with spaces 10,000 rooms to accommodate visiting clay target shooters. the new photos show a series of monolithic towers encircling a main domed tower, designed to echo a traditional desert fortress. All 10 towers will provide four-star accommodations, while two will be reserved for their most well-heeled clientele offering five-star amenities.
“Jeez this is a bit much” said the ICAC’s Assistant Commissioner, the Honourable Ruth McColl AO SC.
“Did it really need eight helipads. I thought this club was just for local gun nuts”
“All they needed was a reception and a canteen?”
Why in the fuck is this thing 100 storeys tall?”
