PE teachers around Australia are today asking why it wasn’t brought to their attention earlier that they are allowed to body slam teenage boys for talking shit.
This comes after NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller attempted to provide context to the behaviour of an officer filmed throwing an Koori teenager to the ground during an arrest in Sydney this week – because he’d “had a bad day”.
The incident, in which the officer kicked the 16-year-old’s feet from beneath him before dumping the boy to the ground, after the youngster was recorded saying “I’ll crack you across the jaw bro” in a moment of teenage bravado.
The now viral footage has resulted in a flurry of parallels between the current civil unrest in America, and Australia’s own history of police brutality towards black people.
However, despite the NSW police promising an internal investigation the officer at the centre of this incident remains at work.
This has prompted thousands of Australian PE teachers to now question if they too can bash teenage boys for being lippy.
“Helllll yeah!!!” says one local educator, Glenn Jones, Head of Health And Physical Education at Betoota Ponds High.
“If I’d known this was a completely excusable way to treat the minors in my duty of care, I would have body slammed over 40 smart arse kids this year alone”
PE teachers join school groundsmen, retail staff, and floor managers at McDonalds restaurants, and hundreds of thousands of other workers around the country who are now cheering at the prospect of being able to lash out erratically at the slightest provocation from teenage boys.
“Oh, it’s on” says local cinema attendant, Clyde from Betoota Cineplex.
“You don’t know how many times I’ve had kids threaten to put one on my chin after I catch them sneaking mates in through the fire exit”
“Usually I just de-escalate the situation and threaten to call their parents…”
“But knowing I’m now aloud to drop them on their heads is a revelation!”
“I hope I can do it to all them, though. Not just the black kids”
