A woman who attended the March for Palestine protest on Sydney Harbour Bridge was shocked to learn – according to several news outlets – that it had apparently “descended into violent chaos.”

Anna Phipps, 35, attended the march with her four-year-old son Jacob, who made it roughly a quarter of the way across the bridge before demanding to be carried. She recalls the event as largely peaceful, if slightly damp due to several bouts of rain, and says the only ‘crushing’ she experienced was when Jacob insisted on being carried for the remainder of the walk.

However, after reading a slew of headlines featuring words like ‘radical protestors’, ‘battle’, ‘crowd crush’, and ‘catastrophic’, Anna is beginning to wonder whether her memory has betrayed her.

“I mean to me, it looked like people from all different ages, races, religions and cultures were coexisting peacefully,” she mused, “but I suppose I could be wrong? Maybe I blacked out during the violent uprising part?”

“I don’t think I partook in any acts of chaos, but perhaps the ABC will confirm.”

More to come.
