The ACT Brumbies have been praised for taking one for the nation this weekend.
With a potential Super Rugby Grand Final on the cards this weekend, the Brumbies have unselfishly decided to pass up on winning the competition in favour of helping the national team.
With The British and Irish Lions tour mere weeks away, the Brumbies have decided to pack the season in and just let the boys start prepping to beat the lippy Northerners.
It’s a move that’s won over fans from the states (cause they are the weirdo territory team), who are looking forward to sending the sunburnt horde of Brits and Paddies back home with a 3-0 series loss.
“Yeah, we kinda cbfed going over to Christchurch this weekend,” laughed Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham.
“After the bullshit scheduling made meant we had to go over to Waikato to play the Chiefs, even though they lost their first finals game.”
“We probably would have been given a Kiwi ref too, so it would have just been too much of a pain to win.”
“So the collective just decided to start getting ready for the big one.”
“Losing that series 12 years ago still stings, so pretty happy to get all our ducks in a row to make sure we win all three Wallabies games, and then pinch a few off them with a Super Rugby teams.”
“The Kiwis can have their own stupid love in.”
“Good luck to em.”
More to come.
