In a diplomatic misdemeanour that probably hasn’t ever happened outside of the confusing jungles of Vietnam, the US Government has today engaged in ‘friendly fire’ with Australia.

Australian reporter Lisa Tomasi was today shot with a rubber bullet while reporting on protests against Donald Trump’s immigration raids in Los Angeles.

This comes as the city of LA sits on the brink of burning down, as Donald Trump’s deportation taskforce is met with a highly organised and solidified opposition in the streets of California.

US authorities, including the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and national guard troops, clashed with crowds of demonstrators on Sunday. They were protesting against Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown – which is alleged to have resulted in the deportation of innocent community members under false grounds.

Masked local citizens are defending their neighbours from deportation by any means necessary, with disruptive street warfare tactics that make the 2021 Black Lives Matters protests look like a St Paddy’s Day Parade.

This has been causing great frustration to the law enforcement officers who have been ordered to stomp out public dissent, with Australian media now caught in the firing line.

Unfortunately for the White House, this incident cannot be blamed on the woke left, as it was caught live on camera by Channel Nine’s American bureau.

In the video, a policeman can be seen lining up the news crew and indiscriminately firing at the legs of the Nine reporter.

Aside from being generally weird behaviour from a country we’ve just signed a 350 billion dollar military partnership with, this kind of extreme police overreach is not usually a good indicator of a healthy democracy.

Australians are now wondering if we even want to commit ourselves to such a costly strategic military partnership with the type of country that fires upon journalists for simply reporting on what the government is doing.

The White House has since apologised, claiming they thought Tomasi ‘was one of our own journalists’
