The Attorney-General Chrisitan Porter has revealed today in Perth that he is the victim of a terrible smear campaign.
The West Australian was facing the allegation he raped a 16-year-old girl in 1988 when he was 17 during a debating tournament in Sydney.
Porter categorically denied the allegation and said it’s “just not true” and that the frenzied media interest in this story has turned him into a victim.
“You are all to blame, the media,” he said.
“You have ruined my life, my career over something that simply did not happen. The media, you’re all bullies,”
“Because of the actions of the media, I have to take time off to get myself sorted. Hopefully, in that time, you can all find someone else to victimize and bully. Res ipsa loquitur, speak to my solicitor.”
More to come.
