A 37 year old hiphop-head of Filipino heritage is absolutely  buzzing about the return of Clipse, despite having no one in his office to talk about it with.

The Virginia based rap duo were a staple of the flossy and braggadocios 2000’s era, an era that is beloved by many men in their 30’s – particularly Filipino men in their 30s, known for their love of all things urban-America.

Mark-Anthony Dela Cruz Santos (37), who works in marketing at the Footlocker head offices, is over the moon about the recent release of the Clipse album.

“They still got it! Who said hiphop is a young man’s game?!” said a puffed out Mark-Anthony midway through an evening basketball game at his local PCYC.

While Mark-Anthony is thrilled about the album, he can’t help but feel a little disappointed that he doesn’t have anyone at work he can talk about this with.

“These youngsters in the office have no idea what real hiphop is! They care more about Playboi Carti, have you heard that trash? It’s not even music!” decried Mark, who had his own battles in his youth with his “90s hiphop purist” older cousins who trashed 2000’s hiphop and its over commercialisation.

Mark’s only saving grace was that he heard a Clipse song being played out of a phone by the beloved security guard manning the boom gate at his office’s underground carpark.

“Can always trust Sione to have immaculate taste in music” Mark admitted.
