Four weeks after their demoralising loss at the 2025 Federal Election, and the Liberal Party of Australia has suffered another cruel blow.
The Federal Division of Bradfield in Sydney’s Upper North Shore has long been considered the safest electorate in the history Liberal Party.
As of an hour ago, the AEC has confirmed that they have lost it to an Independent local candidate by the name of Nicolette Boele.
This may be just one of the closest elections in Australia. After four recounts, the Liberals have lost by 27 votes.
This comes despite one of the most fixated smear campaigns across the entire electoral map, as the Liberal Party dirt unit dug as deep as they could to assassinate Boele’s character.
As the polls numbers began to shift away from the Liberal Party at the halfway mark of the Federal campaign, suddenly ‘a small-business owner’ from Sydney’s North Shore was on the phone to 2GB’s Ben Fordham, claiming that Boele has ‘sexually harrassed’ a ‘teenage girl’ at his hair salon.
It was later revealed that the teenage girl was a 19 year-old hairdresser, and the sexual harassment was a off-colour compliment about how Nicolette Boele would have sex with anyone who could style her hair better.
This became the only tool the Liberal Party had to bring down Boele in her sprint towards the finish line, as well as accusations of ‘anti-semiticism’ after it was revealed that one of her campaign staff hard referred to campaign donation dollars as ‘shekels’.
Knowing full well that they would never dare invite Peter Dutton to help campaign in the moderate Liberal heartland, the Opposition had no choice but to take things out of context and relay them across nationwide media.
The right-wing cancel culture tactic were ultimately unsuccessful. Opposition leader Sussan Ley is now one more vote short in the lower house – and will have to reshuffle her Shadow Cabinet after having already giving a guernsey to their Bradfield candidate.
Nicolette Boele has won the seat, and the Liberals are unable to take the result to court given the tantrum that their own Tim Wilson threw in Melbourne after being forced to endure another recount.
The new Independent Member for Bradfield is now free to showcase her naughty sense of humour for another three years at least. She has celebrated today’s result by exclaiming how she didn’t even need to ROOT any Australian Electoral Commission staff to get such a result.
“Now who do I need to fuck to get a glass of champagne around here!” she exlaimed.
