A determined young Australian in LA has continued to ignore the downfall of American civil liberties in an attempt to sustain their curated online persona.

Imogen-Rose Bryne (24), a Gold Coast native whose awesome personality has garnered her a sizable following online, has long dreamt of her picturesque LA holiday — a crowning moment for any online influencer.

Unfortunately for Imogen, a drastic escalation in ICE raids on migrant communities throughout Southern California has led to widespread civil unrest leading to the mobilisation of the national guard and even the US Marine Corps throughout LA.

Despite police taking a heavy hand on protesters, cars being set alight and the President of the United States threatening to arrest the Governor of California, Imogen is determined to push through the noise.

“I don’t really keep up with politics anyway so it’s not like my followers are expecting me to have a take on this” Imogen explained while checking the Waze app for a peaceful way to reach Starbucks.

Imogen’s situation is nothing new, while many multi-generational LA natives are bearing the brunt of an aggressive Trump government and a gung ho ICE department, wealthy rich kids from all over the world visiting LA are determined to have a business as usual LA trip.

“It’s really annoying that all of this is happening now, It’s my first time in LA and the whole point of coming here was making people I don’t like jealous of my life..” explained Tanya Ivanov (21) an international school educated Russian influencer.

But as the city spirals deeper into chaos, it’s clear that no amount of curated content can fully mask the reality unfolding around them.
