After explaining the “game-changing” tactics employed by England’s national Cricket team – Bazball – Dwayne Riley (29) was met with an unanticipated interrogation of his explanation.
“So, they get the runs quick but then doesn’t that mean the other team has more time to score the runs?” posed Gemma Bridgewater.
“Yeah,” replied Riley, taking a sip from his beer and looking at the television on the wall of the pub.
“It makes sense, I’m just not sure how.”
Itching to explain how the aggressive new strategy has shaken up world cricket – Dwayne failed to receive in any interest at all.
“So this was always going to be the test of this new philosophy right?” continued Dwayne, now not even getting so much as a nod in response.
“Because it’s a five test series, and our bowling attack is probably the best in the world,” he explained to no one in particular.
“So, if they can continue scoring at 5s and 6s and over against our lineup for four tests, then you really got to tip your hat to them I reckon.”
“As much as it pains me to say that,” he said, with someone now getting up and walking to the toilet without even apologising for leaving the table.
“Nah all good, I guess I’ll go fuck myself then,” laughed Dwayne, finally reading the room.
