A local comedian has today reduced an entire polling booth worth of volunteers to tears, after providing some much needed laughing levity.
Will White (29) from our town’s rapidly gentrifying Flight Path District did so a short time ago, when he dropped a classic one liner on the attendees of the Flight Quarter Public School voting centre.
“This is Democracy Manifest,” yelled the local comedian to the delight of all in attendance, as he drowned his 3rd sausage sambo of the day in MasterFoods Democracy Sauce.
The quote comes from Jack Karlson (aka the Democracy Manifest guy), whose clip from decades ago repeatedly went viral across social media to the point where it became an entrenched part of internet culture.
“What is the charge? Eating a meal, a succulent saucy meal?” he continued to rapturous laughter from the exhausted crowd of people handing out how to vote cards to people who for the most part just give them a spray or avoid eye contact.
When asked by our reporter if he’s been on the sauce today, Will laughed.
“Ahhhhh, I see you know your judo well,” continued the man, who later explained he’d actually voted earlier this morning but thought he’d swing by the voting centre on the way home for from the pub for a quick little snackeroo.
“2.50 for a sausage sambo mate…”
“In THIS economy.”
“How can ya say no.”
More to come.
