Fatal shots have been fired amongst a Betoota group of friends after what was presumed to be a light-hearted roast was confirmed as a real diss after being finished off with an ‘only joking’.

Physically unable to drink in a group without making jokes at each other’s expense, the young group of Betoota friends traded blows back and forth, accessing the deepest recesses of their personal insecurities all in the name of saying something that is technically funny.

That was until one jab struck bone as ‘friend’ Peta Parson (28) made light, and then dark, of her friend Drew’s frugal habits.

“Seriously, you never remember whose round it is but whenever I owe you $5 you turn into a Vinnie Jones debt collector,” stated Parson, who was getting away with it for now.

“You’ve owed me $350 since New Year’s 2020 and I haven’t even mentioned you’ve gotten two new tattoos since then!”

Believed to be just a bit of fun, spectators shared some laughs at the expense of their cheap mate before Parson dropped a stinger that confirmed what she had just said was entirely based in her bitter reality.

“Haha, I’m only joking mate.”

In the following silence, the peer group suddenly took a keen interest in their drinks and took a moment to silently reflect on the murder that had just taken place.

“I only got the one tattoo and it was for my dead nan,” replied Drew, acting as if he didn’t just receive a public verbal spanking.

“Yeah, I know mate, I was just joking,” stated Parson, doubling down.

“But seriously, it is your round.”
